La Tache
6.06 ha (14.4 acres), average production 1,870 cases, average age of vines: 46 years.

The domaine acquired most of the 6.06 hectares of La Tache in 1933, completing the vineyards by exchanging small plots of Les Gaudichots, recognised as La Tache by appellation in 1936. 75% of the vineyard can trace its origins to the vines of the Romanee-Conti vineyard. The holding spans the entire slope or ‘côte’, thus encompassing a complexity of terroirs and is cultivated biodynamically. It stretches from the top to the bottom of the mid-slope band which contains the grands crus, thus covering a complexity of terroirs.
It is a more flamboyant wine than Romanee Conti and needs a minimum of ten years for all aspects, including the tannins, to integrate.
