Bordeaux 2014 - Lynch Bages

Château Lynch Bages has just released its 2014 vintage at £575 per case. They have made an extremely good wine this year which combines the ripe, dense and complex fruit of the estate with the lovely balance of the vintage.

Physically available vintages of similar quality (2008, 2006, 2004) are trading at £770+ so we think £575 is a very fair price indeed.

£575 per case of 12 bottles

'This has fascinating aromas already with blackcurrants and cassis. Hints of spices. It's full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and a long, focused finish. Muscular but toned and beautiful. 95-96 points.' James Suckling

'Blackish crimson. Sweet and luscious and almost with black-cherry super-ripe aromas! A note of something charred here. Pretty interesting. Lots of work to overpower the tannins. Should make very good old bones to chew over. Long and glamorous. Tasting it blind, I guessed it was Lynch. Drink 2024-2040. 17 points.' Jancis Robinson

E&OE April 2015.

Delivery Spring 2017. Subject to final confirmation.

Bordeaux 2014 - Haut Brion & Mission Haut Brion

Domaine Clarence Dillon have released today two of the star wines from 2014: Chateaux Haut Brion (£2320/case) & Mission Haut Brion (£1420/case). These were the last two wines we tried during our time in Bordeaux and what a send-off it was. The Haut Brion is supremely elegant with an incredibly long finish and the Mission Haut Brion showed its inimitable dark, spicy fruit on the nose but it is also made in a very elegant and focused style this year.

Bordeaux 2014 - Wines of Mouton Rothschild

We are pleased to offer today the wines from the Mouton Rothschild stable, including the Grand Vin itself. All the wines are made by the same team and quality is very high across the board.

We thought the Armailhac shows lovely fruit and balance and at £230 per case, represents good value. The Clerc Milon is also very good but considering the price of £320 per case, we think Armailhac is the better buy.

Marquis d'Angerville

In our opinion, Volnay is the finest red wine appellation in the Cote de Beaune and Marquis d'Angerville is the finest producer of Volnay. The domaine makes wines which somehow combine the ripe and rich dark fruits of the Cote de Beaune with the breed and finesse of the wines of the Cote de Nuits.
