|Clos de la Roche Morey St Denis Grand Cru, Lignier Michelot||2005||Burgundy (Red)||12 x 75cl||£1600||1||93 BH|
Like it was from cask this remains restrained with its brooding nose of black berry fruit and intense violet notes that evidence hints of spice and iron-infused earth. There is a lush, even opulent texture to the naturally sweet, rich and muscular big-bodied flavors that are seductively textured that completely saturate the palate with buckets of dry extract while at the same time buffering the ripe and still moderately firm tannins on the impressively persistent finish. This delivers excellent depth and about the only nit this beauty displays is a hint of backend warmth. Though still firm it's not especially austere and this should be good to go in the 2017 to 2019 area though it will hold for several decades thereafter.
